TWCS Blog Tour M.A. Stacie's Beyond Scandal - Reluctance #3

Beyond the Seduction (Reluctance #3)By M.A. Stacie

M. A. Stacie is never without a book or her eReader. A voracious reader, with a love of sexy, yet angst ridden novels, she loves getting lost in new worlds. Her need to write did not grip her until after her second son was born, when her previous rambles became fully fledged stories.

She describes herself as one huge contradiction, and though not the most conventional of hobbies, she counts getting new tattoos as one of hers. Along with running, knitting, and listening to loud music. However, she is yet to work out how to do them all at the same time.

I am not much of a slacker in the reading department so let me dispense with the filler and get to the business of this posting. I began with the first book in the series. Now, here we go. . .

Beneath the Surface (Reluctance, #1)

Kyran Reese is a man in control. Driven when it comes to work, focused when it comes to play. From his office to the chalk circle of the bare-knuckle boxing ring, his only thought is to win. That thirst heightens when Dale Porter enters his life. His brother’s assistant should be off limits, but her witty comments and sarcastic comebacks have him desperate to get her between the sheets.

When Dale agrees to Kyran’s relationship stipulation of no labels she’s sucked into a whirlwind of lust, money, and underground boxing. Dale fights her growing affection, trying to hide it when the world around them spirals out of control. All too soon she realizes she can’t hide her true feelings any longer.

Has Kyran finally met his match? Could playing to win mean playing for keeps?

REVIEW #1
Kyran Reese is a typical alpha male that sees something he wants and goes all out to get it. But there is one thing that he did not anticipate encountering. A strong independent woman with a serious mind of her own except when it comes to that libido of hers. man in control. Driven when it comes to work, focused when it comes to play. Dale Porter enters the picture and his life changes to win at any cost. Dale is full of witt smart azz comebacks and the chemistry is off the charts in a very delectable way. s life.

Things reach the braking point when Dale agrees to Kyran’s offer of a no label relationship. She is pulled into his world of off the charts lust, serious money, and down and dirty underground boxing. Dale falls prey to what most women in her place do. She finds herself falling for this alpha male and his ways. Hiding it all is out of the question even though she tries hard to do so. But there is one thing we find this is not just one sided.

Kyran has finally met his match in more than one way and the only way is for him to play-to-win, which means he is playing for keeps.

My thoughts in a quick sum-up: Not much behind all the sex, sex, sex, and more sex with drama added in for some flavor here and there. Kyran is a super alpha male with all the issues and chaos that goes with that aspect of life. Dale is the typical woman that equates hot sex with love. She falls for the alpha tyrant and tries to unsuccessfully hide what she feels.

Behind the Scandal (Reluctance, #2)

Sent to the family ranch to overcome his addiction, Taylor Reese is angry and hurt. Feeling rejected by his father and brother, Taylor throws himself into ranch life to help him forget. But it isn’t long before it hits him hard how much his life has spiraled out of control, leaving him floundering and looking for a lifeline.

Libby Karlin is cautious, wary of Taylor’s presence. Her dark past makes her reluctant to let anyone near her family. But after Taylor strikes up a friendship with her son, Libby finds herself drawn to the sadness within him. His experiences are no secret to her, though she keeps her own buried until a knock on her door has her gasping for breath.

Could dealing with their pasts really give them a future?

Originally read July 2014 with Review on GoodReads.com. This was a second reading with more understanding and connection to the story and the characters.

My thoughts in a quick sum-up: Taylor and Libby have different reasons for being at the ranch. The differences bring them together. Their private battles ties them together. This makes for a journey together that makes getting to the end that much better. This is a stand alone but there are a few questions from book one that you may want to have answers to in this one. Taylor is very complex and to see his journey through it all and why he ended up at the ranch taking a look at book one would not be a bad thing. It will just open some doors to you.

On to the feature. . .

Beyond the Seduction (Reluctance, #3

For a man who thought he had everything, Trace Jacks sure had nothing now.

After one letter blows his life apart, Trace is clueless how he can move on. He stumbles through the days, never accepting the grief that flows within him, and finding it easier to bury his loss. Hiding becomes a lot easier after he takes his niece to her dance class, striking up an interesting conversation with her teacher.

Shae Bennett is happy to keep things fun, enjoying Trace’s seduction and his spontaneity. With him she can forget about her concerns for her mom and stress of running the dance studio. With him she can be herself, and it is all-consuming.

When the fun beings to slip, when reality starts to encroach in the worst way, their relationship unravels at an alarming speed, leaving Trace and Shae battling for a way back to one another.

REVIEW #3
Let me just say. I was not suppose to read it all in that night. I wanted a little before bed then pick up the next night. I was not that simple. I read it all in that one sitting. When I got to the end I wanted more. I love the recaps, review, revisits.

This new story brought me the  extra that I was missing out of the first two books of the series. Trace is back and there is so much more to this man than we have had samples of. We get the back story and some. He gets more than what he could have bargained for. That is were Shae comes to play. There is a romance here. We watch it bloom, grown, and flourish.

Life has handed them both some bad apples. Who's to say that two bad apples can't make the orchard together that much sweeter.

My thoughts in a quick sum-up: Go get this one. Need I say it again. Go get it. While you are at it and if you have not already, get the other two. This series has three hitters that makes for a great build to and delicious climax. Read my thoughts regarding the series thus far below.

My thoughts regarding the series thus far: Get the series start with book on. It may not be the five-star you are looking for but just wait. The next one does not make to the five-star land but it lets you see the growth of the M.A. Stacie and the work she is creating here with the Reluctance series. Now, book three did not make the five-star rating either, but it did something the other two book in the series did not. This book gave me the uuuumph that I was looking for. I got it all desire, lust, sex, drama, a little tiger and prey, family issues/problems/drama, and a mix of what a good book should embody.

Not that you have to read the book before to get the flow of the book you are on but I do suggest that you read the all. The order is your choice but there are a few spots where you may ask. Who? What? When?
