Whiskey
Whiskey Sour, #1
Release Date: August 2nd 2016
Cover Design by: Steam Power Studio
Genre: Dark Erotic Romance
The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of Whiskey (Whiskey Sour, #1) . . .
Dark, dangerous, mysterious, sensual, desire ridding, lust consuming, brutal at times, mindless, raw, dirty, and more behind these pages. Whiskey has a life that no one wants to lay claim to but more the most have lived in some way or another. Some are ashamed of what lead them to the direction in which they find themselves. Others find a way to cope with what life had dealt them. Welcome to Whiskey's world.

Whiskey was strong, determined and willing to do what it took to make it. She did not allow for life to keep her down. She did not allow for life to take away the on thing that was good for her. Sawyer gave Whiskey something that was tangible. Something that tied them together. Something unbreakable.

Life has a way of handing you intensity when you feel that things are going well. This happens to Whiskey and Sawyer. There was darkness, intense emotional triggers, and the gritty grime of life when you have nothing else. Come along read this well paced, rich characters, dark journey of Whiskey and the one man that gave her true hope when there was none.

I got sucked in by the teasing blurb a month ago, then the excerpt from a few weeks ago. Then I got pulled all the way into Whiskey's world with the read. I was captivated right from the start to the final words on the page. I have to say that I will be picking up the next. I look forward to all the ladies of Whiskey Sour  to have their own stories told. This read will not be for everyone, but if you crave a little something different , a little something on the darker side of life. Then I would suggest picking up Whiskey.

I just shake my head, I don’t want to get into this here. “Don’t Sawyer, please.”
“I don’t understand. I thought …. I thought we had a connection, something more than that!”
Christopher starts to laugh. He grabs me by my waist and pulls me closer to him. “You thought she had feelings for you … didn’t you? You are a complete fool, taken in by a bit of pussy. I am going to live on this one for weeks.”
I can’t believe he is being so cruel to Sawyer, did he really have feelings for me? I look at him and beg him with my eyes to help me. Then I look back at the floor and ignore everyone.
Christopher is still talking to Sawyer, “I think it’s time to leave this party, Whiskey. Although I’m having so much fun, I think I would much prefer to sink my cock in your pussy.” He pulls me to turn and start walking off.
Sawyer reaches out and pulls me away from Christopher and then he punches him in the face. I scream, Tilda screams and the bouncers come running.
“Excuse me gentlemen, can you please sort out your differences outside.”
“Don’t worry WE were just leaving.” Christopher takes my hand and drags me to the lift, which just happens to be free and as soon as he is inside he slams his fist into the button, the door closes as I see Sawyer coming towards it.
“Well that was a really interesting night Whiskey. Your pussy has had a lot of attention tonight and I haven’t even started with you.”
“I’m not going to sleep with you Christopher.”
“Yes, you are!”
“No, I don’t have to, it’s my prerogative.” I cross my arms.
He pushes me against the back of the lift, and grabs my chin to hold it in place. “You’re prerogative went out of the window sweetheart when I found out you slept with HIM. Whore!”
He tries to kiss me, I bite his lip, It only seems to turn him on more. I try to push him off me, “Get off me Christopher.”
He starts laughing like a maniac and I start to get really scared. All the customers are vetted by Kings X Companions so we don’t come across any weirdo’s – I wonder how he slipped through the net. I can’t wait to speak to Marcia ? tomorrow and make sure he can’t hire anyone else.
“I’ll find my own way home,” I say as we get out of the lift. I try pulling my arm away from him.
“You’re very funny! I paid for company for tonight, I haven’t even started yet. Then I want to see you being a whore and only then will I think about letting you go home. Only think about it mind you.”
I can hear myself screaming at him. “You’re a fucking psycho Christopher. If I don’t go home, then Tilda will know who I’m with. She knows I don’t want to go home with you already, so she WILL be watching out for me.”
“Shut up, bitch.” He drags me to a waiting car. I start to feel a bit sick and dizzy. He opens the door and pushes me inside.
“What the fuck man?” Some guy says as he gets in beside me and slams his door.
“Sorry, there was an opportunity and I took it. She won’t remember you don’t worry. I slipped something in her drink earlier. Should give us time to get her to the farm.”
“But C, we didn’t agree to this. We talked about it, fantasised about it, but we never agreed to it.”
“Stop moaning and man up T. This is happening and it’s happening now.” His voice is getting really slurry, I can’t quite make out what he is saying.
I close my eyes, I feel so tired. I don’t want to be here. I want to be tucked up at home in my own bed. I can’t hear him talking anymore … it’s dark …

Author Info
I am a mother to two young children, who in turn keep me young. I live in Dublin, Ireland but, I’m originally from South Devon in the UK. I work full time in a pharmacy and write in all my spare time: in my lunch hour, when watching TV at night and anywhere.

11406804_1608742806034337_2206921130416523594_nI have always been interested in reading from a young age and then 2 years ago I was given a kindle as a present and it was the best thing that happened to me. I was able to read lots of books ever week and then I started to write reviews for all the books I read. I took this one step further and started my own facebook page – Sparkling Pink Bookshelf. I intended to upload all of my reviews for the books I read. This was purely for pleasure and then I answered a post on Facebook for someone to read for reviews and thought I had died and gone to heaven. I was reading about 7/8 books a week, the kindle made this achievable. I would read at any opportunity I could, even staying up til the small hours to finish a book. I loved it. Then one day I was asked to beta read a book – I loved this side of it, it was so exciting. I have worked with a number of indie authors and have remained loyal to a few select authors and I beta read all their work.

After a year or more of doing this, I thought maybe I could write some of the stories that were in my head and I just decided to write and see what happened. I wrote about 70% of a story and then saw a post for the NaNoWriMo competition – to write 50,000 words in 30 days, I decided that this was a challenge I wanted to take and the Til Death Us Do Part series was born. I am always thinking of situations that can be turned into a story and have started a few stories, which in turn will be completed and released to my readers. I love to hear what my readers have to say about my work and please find my links below. Thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy this series of books as much as I enjoyed writing them.

From The Book Junkie Reads . . . Totally, Sweetly Irrevocably (Sweet Lov, #2) . . .
Fun, sweet, sexy, and entertaining. Gina. What could be said that would be nice? When I first met her I was not a fan? To find that the second book of the series was dedicated to her and her HEA was interesting. I was not quite sure how to take that. The to see Jared found his way in to this book also. Where will he pop up next?

Well, let me just say that I got more than I was expecting from Gina. Turing Officer Boyd's world upside down was just the beginning of Gina's antics. She was on a mission and was not allowing for anyone to deter her from her mission.  Rick Boyd was more than just a sexy cop in uniform. He had more going for him. The banter between the two was fun to watch unfold.

The characters were fun and engaging. Looking forward to see more of the family and friends of the Sweet Love series.

BLURB
When Officer Rick Boyd answers a call about a peeping Tom, he doesn’t expect to find a gorgeous woman holding the binoculars. But Gina Silvano’s no peeping Tom, and she can catch her cupcake truck’s kinky vandals herself, thank you very much. No sexy cops required.

No matter how hot their stakeouts, by-the-book Officer Boyd can’t see a future with a dangerous, rule-breaking wild-child who despises the law. He’s never felt more alive, though, and expunging her from his heart might be impossible. But loving each other might cost them more than they are able to give.

EXCERPT . . .

Joe looked her over and then glanced back at Rick, who for the first time looked more uncomfortable than amused. “We gotta frisk her,” he said.
Rick’s frown deepened. “I don’t think that’s necessary. She’s not armed.”
Joe looked at him in surprise. Rick shrugged. “I know she’s not armed and she wouldn’t hurt us if she was. She’s not a criminal.”
Gina’s eyes narrowed. “Gee, thanks for the vote of confidence.”
That sexy half smile touched his lips again, and Gina clenched her stomach muscles in an attempt to keep that little electric jolt from spreading through her. No such luck.
“Look, I may not be as much of a stickler for the rules as you,” Joe said. “But if she’s going to be in the car uncuffed, she needs to be frisked. I’ll do it if you’re not comfortable.”
Rick shot his partner a surprised and unhappy look. “No. I’ll do it.”
“Really, boys. Fighting over who gets to feel me up is so grade school. One of you just do it, already.” She leaned against the truck, arching her back a little as she looked over her shoulder. If she had to do this she was going to enjoy it. And make it as hard for Officer Boyd as she could. Pun totally intended. Nothing like a little payback torture to perk a girl up.
Her eyes met his and held, their gazes transmitting a scorching heat that sent a shiver running down Gina’s spine. She knew she was in trouble. She knew people were watching. She didn’t care. The thought of Rick’s hands on her made her heart jackhammer in her chest. Not that she thought he’d dare. He’d chicken out for sure.
Joe took a step toward her and Rick blocked him, his hand slapping against the other man’s chest. His eyes didn’t leave Gina’s until he was standing inches from her. Then he let his gaze roam over her, from head to foot and back again. He leaned over her and grabbed her hands, moving her around the side of the truck so the vehicle shielded her from the gawking occupants of the bakery. He slapped her hands back down and kicked her feet farther apart. Her breath caught in her throat. His hands trailed across her shoulders, up under her hair and then down her back. His huge hands spanned the whole surface of her back, with his fingers trailing down her sides. Then they moved up the front. She held her breath, her teeth biting her bottom lip as his hands came within a hairbreadth of her breasts. Then they moved away.
She released her breath with a near sob. Her nipples tightened painfully, as if in protest that they’d been ignored. It had been far too long since she’d gotten laid. It was the only explanation for why she was leaning against a truck on the verge of an orgasm just from being not-very-thoroughly frisked by an anal cop.
His hands skimmed up her legs to her thighs, and a small moan that she couldn’t catch fast enough escaped her lips.
Rick immediately stepped back. “I think that’ll suffice,” he said, his voice gruff.
Gina straightened and looked back at him. “Not nearly. But it was a good start.”
Instead of being surprised or shocked, as she’d intended, Rick smiled that sexy bedroom smile of his. “That was me doing my job,” he murmured. “If I had any intent other than arresting you, that wouldn’t have even counted as preliminary foreplay.”
Gina swallowed and forced herself to drag in a lungful of air. He was toying with her. And heaven help her, she was loving every second of it. Aside from the minor detail of her arrest. That part sucked.

Kira ArcherAuthor Info
Kira Archer resides in Pennsylvania with her husband, two kiddos, and far too many animals in the house. She tends to laugh at inappropriate moments, break all the rules she gives her kids (but only when they aren’t looking), and would rather be reading a book than doing almost anything else. She has odd, eclectic tastes in just about everything and often lets her imagination run away with her. She loves her romances a little playful, a lot sexy, and always with a happily ever after.

Kira Archer’s Music Playlist

Music is a very strong inspiration for me. It isn’t necessary for my writing process, but it can really help set the mood or get a scene in my head if I need a little help. And as it is summer and my kids are home all day, it’s also great for drowning out the background noise ;-) I tend to listen to instrumental music when writing as lyrics can be a bit difficult to tune out sometimes. My go-to faves depend on the mood I’m going for. For more angsty/sad/tense scenes I gravitate toward The Piano Guys, Evanescence, Apocalyptica, E.S. Posthumus, and Rob Dougan.

My current release, Totally, Sweetly, Irrevocably, is a funny book with characters who enjoy pushing each other’s buttons. So I kept the music light and upbeat. My playlist mostly consisted of Lindsey Stirling and Parov Stelar on Pandora. A few of my favorite songs of theirs:

Lindsey Stirling: Master of Tides, Roundtable Rival, and The Arena
Parov Stelar: Booty Swing, Catgroove, and All Night

I also listened to my Old School playlist quite a bit – gotta love that 90’s music ;-) Some faves from that list are:

Shoop – Salt N Pepa
Poison – Poison
Steal My Sunshine – LEN
Da Dip – Freak Nasty
Opposites Attract – Paula Abdul

Mainly anything that made me want to dance or put a smile on my face was good for this book!

Release Blitz - How The Warrior Fell (Falling Warriors, #1) by Nicole René

How The Warrior Fell
Falling Warriors, #1
by Nicole René
Release Date: July 18th 2016
Genre: Historical Romance, Dark Historical Romance

From The Book Junkie Reads . . . How The Warrior Fell (Falling Warriors, #1) . . .
I literally wanted to get my hands around Xavier's throat and squeeze as tight as I can. I had this desire for a good portion of the book. Leawyn was a strong beauty daughter to a clan chief. To build an alliance and shut down an ancient feud she was push to marriage. Treated worse than property. She pushed on. She had the purity, strength, and determination to stick to her resolve.

This debut brought brutality, battles, betrayal, pain, pleasure, and stirred strong emotions. I battled with myself on my deep disgust and dislike of Xavier and my enormous empathy for/with Leawyn.  Tides change with any good book you get to watch as the characters change and grow.  My dislike of Xavier became like and a deeper respect for L eawyn.

I am anticipating the next in the series. I find that there were a few prospects that I would love to see coming along with their own battles and HEA.

Author Info
Nicole René is a San Diego native living with her grumpy kitty, Sebastian.

When she’s not busy creating sexy alpha males, you can most likely find her with her nose stuck in a book reading OTHER sexy alpha males, kicking back with her friends and family, at the movies, or further fueling her “The Little Mermaid” and “The Lord of the Rings” obsession.

She is a certified klutz, often tripping over invisible objects, dropping things like they were hot, and playing ping-pong with the walls. She has lots of tattoos, loves to eat sushi (but hates eating cooked fish), hates going to the beach (even though she’s surrounded by them), and is still waiting for her Hogwarts letter to come in the mail.
