NetGalley REVIEW - Virtual Tour - Drakon’s Plunder (Blood of the Drakon, #3) by N.J. Walters

Drakon’s Plunder
Blood of the Drakon, #3
by N.J. Walters
Publication Date: July 3rd 2017
Publisher: Entangled: Select Otherworld
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance

BLURB

Life is not going well for archaeologist Sam Bellamy. She’s stuck in the middle of the ocean on a salvage boat with people who want her dead. It wasn’t her gift for being able to sense objects of power that got her here, rather her need to make a secret society called the Knights of the Dragon pay for killing her mentor. Sam doesn’t believe in dragons, but the Knights do, and if she can get one of the sacred artifacts they’re searching for away from them, she’ll consider it payback.

Ezra Easton is content to run his marine salvage company and live alone on his private island. He may be a four-thousand-year-old water drakon, but he’s civilized enough to know just because he pulls an injured woman from the ocean, doesn’t mean he gets to keep her…

When she wakes up, she has a few tall tales to share, and it seems the Knights are after her. But this drakon won’t give up his treasure.

Virtual Tours - Drakon’s Promise (Blood of the Drakon, #1) by N.J. Walters

Drakon’s Promise
Blood of the Drakon, #1

Genres: Adult, Paranormal Romance

From The Book Junkie Reads . . . Drakon’s Promise (Blood of the Drakon, #1) . . .
An introduction to a new series that will challenge you thought and views of possible otherworldly half-breed being present and what they could do. I love dragon and the such. I believe this was the first time that I heard drakon. I have lots of dragon shifters and various books and this was the first that I could recall with the term and the depth. I may have experienced some of the verbage but that doesn’t matter now. I am talking on this one.

I enjoyed getting to know Darius. He was what should be expected of a drakon/dragon. He was  strong alpha, determined, no-nonsense, self-assured, and a straight shooter. I got myself a read that had danger, intrigue, a sexy hot alpha and a likeable heroine, Sarah.

I was captivate by Darius and Sarah and I stayed for the brother and what would come of them. I wanted to know all that I could to keep my tied to this world. I want more of the rest. I am certain to fall in love with them.

BLURB
Darius Varkas is a drakon. He's neither human nor dragon.

He's both.

He's also the target of an ancient order who want to capture all drakons for their blood. When fresh, a drakon's blood can cure any illness and prolong a human's life, and the Knights will stop at nothing to get it.

When librarian Sarah Anderson stumbles across a rare book belonging to the Knights of the Dragon, she's quickly thrust into a dangerous world of secrets and shifters and things she never would have believed possible. When the Knights realize Sarah has a secret of her own, she becomes just as much a target as Darius. Her scary dragon shifter just might be her best chance at survival.

“Sarah, it’s vitally important I get that book. I need you to think about the security at work. Cameras, guards, alarms, everything.” He’d need to get schematics of the building and more. But he’d start here, with his best inside source. Of course, if she was working with the Knights, this might be nothing more than an elaborate plot to capture him.
It was a risk he had to take.
“You don’t need to know that,” she began.
Darius caught her face in his hands and cradled her cheeks in his palms. “I do, Sarah, I really do. I’m not worried about my life, but those of people close to me.” That was the most he could give her.
“No, you don’t.”
Disappointment seeped into him, and he released her and straightened to his full height. “How much?”
“What?” She sounded bewildered, but he wasn’t buying it. If she wasn’t willing to give him the information he needed, it was because she wanted something. In his vast experience with humans, that meant money in one form or another. It used to be gold and jewels. Nowadays, it was more likely to be a simple bank transfer.
He put his hands on his hips and simply stared at her, trying not to get lost in her chocolate-brown eyes. They appeared so innocent. “How much for the information?”
She jumped to her feet and glared at him. “You son of a bitch. I’m risking a lot to warn you about the book and everything else.”
“That doesn’t answer my question.” No way could he let her go until he had the information he needed. “The quicker you give it to me, the faster I can pay you. Then you can leave.”
She fisted her hands at her sides. “I ought to let you pay for it.” Then she fumbled with her knapsack and yanked open the zipper. He wondered if she had a weapon of some kind, and cursed himself for not searching her earlier. Not that it would do her much good. Most conventional weapons, at least any that could fit in her bag, wouldn’t do much damage to him. But it would piss him off.
She reached inside the bag and, instead of a weapon, pulled out an old, leather-bound book. She thrust it against his stomach, and he caught it before it dropped to the floor.
“Here’s your damn book. I smuggled it out of work at great personal risk. You’re welcome.” She stepped around him and strode to the elevator. Sarah slapped her palm against the panel, but nothing happened. Only he could make it work.
Darius stared at the book and then back at the very angry woman waiting for an elevator that would never come.
An unusual sensation enveloped him, one he’d rarely felt in the thousands of years he’d been alive. It was shame with a hint of bewilderment.
He might have just made the biggest mistake of his life.

Virtual Tour - The Hunt by Harper A. Brooks

The Hunt

Shifter Origins, #1
by Harper A. Brooks
Publication Date: October 24th 2016
Published by: Entangled: Select Otherworld
Genres: Adult, Paranormal Romance

From The Book Junkie Reads . . . The Hunt. . .
This was a new series with a tale of origins of the shifter society that lived in the city and the nearby forest. I was pulled in by the society hierarchy of the different shifter cat species. The tug here and there. The suspense of who killed the king and why. How was the prince going to find the killer? How was the prince going to deal with his attraction to the wrong female shifter? Would there be a union between the species or war? Will they live to see the next day?

I got me a rich story of betrayal, strife, sacrifice, commitment, secrets, truths, racism, and more. Cara happens to be in the wrong place and the time of a murder that puts her in the cross-hairs of the hunter. Her life will never be the same from that point forward. Prince Kael has to find the killer and fast. He has to track all the things that lead to the murder and he discovers much.

This was my first in more ways than one. New author and new line of the Entangled Publishing. I did enjoy this one. I would like to see what comes next and the direction things will take from here.

**This ARC was provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.**

BLURB
Prince Kael has just lost his father to an assassin, and he’s the next target. A murderer is on the loose, the kingdom is in disarray, and Kael is determined to make the person responsible for killing his father pay. But falling for the beautiful Cara, panther-shifter and main suspect in his father’s murder, wasn’t part of the plan. He’s not at all sure she did it, and he finds himself going against everything he’s ever known just to claim her.

The ceremonial Hunt is approaching, and mates must be chosen to run together. The hatred between the tiger and panther species is all they know. If Kael and Cara follow their hearts, it could mean treason and death.

THE HUNT BOOK TRAILER

 EXCERPT
Up and down her back, her skin prickled. Her muscles tensed. Someone was behind her, and not too far away. The rising volume of voices from the crowd made it difficult for Cara to listen for any hints of who it may be. Friend or foe? She lifted her nose and sniffed. Hidden underneath the distinct, heavy smells of the marketplace—burning incense, sweat, and smoky fires—was the faint, crisp scent of mint leaves.

Then, she heard several light cracking sounds, like twigs breaking underfoot. Before she could turn her head, something too small to see in its speed blew past her face, whistling through the air. She tried yelling a warning to the dais, but the words weren't even on her tongue before Rei Salus was gripping his chest. His face twisted in terror, and his knees collapsed under him. The leopard guards reached out, grasping his arms as he fell to the floor.
Many people in the crowd dropped to the ground, covering their heads. Others screamed and ran into the safety of the canvas tents. With the space cleared, Cara could see more of the stage. The rei's body twitched and jumped like a fish taken from water. White, foamy bubbles leaked from his nostrils and the corners of his mouth. Kael, the tiger prince, fell to his father's side and ripped something out of his chest. As he held it up to examine it, Cara saw a slender wooden tube with a needle-like nose. It was a dart of some kind.
“He's been poisoned!” Kael shouted to the guards. His voice was as menacing and powerful as his appearance. Rei Salus's thrashing continued. Every second seemed to drag on as the crowd watched in silent horror. Cara couldn’t look away, either.
Then, a terrible gurgling sound spewed from his mouth, and he stilled, lying like a puddle on the dais. One of the leopards reached down and pressed his fingers against his neck.
“The rei…He is dead,” he said.
The prince looked at the dart again, his rage making his eyes glow. Then, his focus moved to something else, something beyond the weapon. A fierce growl tore from his throat as his and Cara's eyes locked.
Her gut lurched as realization hit her.
“You!” he roared, throwing the dart down and pulling the dagger from his belt. “Panther!”
Cara was running before the word left his mouth.
