I was drawn in to this world of the Russian underworld. I was drawn in to this family. The lifestyle was one of more drama, passion, violence, death. I found a huge sense of family. Alek let something horrific affect his decision process before he could fully understand and grasp the consequences of his actions. Sacha was not all that smart herself but she has just been kick in the gut and left shattered. Her decisions were based on self preservation and more. The pain of it all was felt. The relief of discovery palpable. The unmistakable feeling of being gut punched was wholly heartbreaking for them both.

Nancy Haviland has giving me a new world to explore. I have read few romance, action, suspense books centered around the world, life, love, and family of a crime family. I have found a series that I want to know more of.

Just a personal opinion. And yeah I know everyone has one. I think it would be best to have read the other three books before jumping right in to this one. Beside the background information that you get. You get a sense of family, friends, love, respect, protective backing. This group of people had all this and more for each other.
