Hiya! Paranormal Romance or Urban Fantasy your thing? We've got
you covered! Not only is first prize a $2,000 Amazon gift card, we also have 15
ebook and paperback runner up prizes!
I'm Eden Ashe, and my story in the promotion is the first in my
Dragon Lore series, The Dragon's Heart about Daniel, the dragon king and his
human, superstar actress mate, Shelby. And, just for you all, I managed to
convince the dragon that his mate would be safe if they came and chatted with
us for awhile!
.
"We're dragons. We
don't do the mushy friend thing." – Daniel The dragon-shifter king will do
anything to keep his mate alive. . .even if it means war. After millennia as
king of the dragon-shifters, Daniel Ashborne wants a little peace and quiet,
especially from the beautiful Hollywood starlet who haunts his memories. His
escape tactics end abruptly when he is called to the ER to save the one woman
he wants to forget, but who now bears his mark. Shelby Kincade's life and movie
career were nearly destroyed when Daniel vanished a year ago. Now he's back,
claiming they have been accidentally mated. Getting over him once was hard
enough, but now she must choose either the life of her dreams or the man she
can't live without. With peace finally on the horizon between the
dragon-shifters and the Hunters, an assassination attempt on the dragon king
and his mate shatters everything. Tensions rebuild as Daniel and his loyal team
of shifters try to discover who put out the hit. Enemy and ally lines are
crossed, but in the end--after the battle ash has settled--no one could have
foreseen who has plotted for their own gain. CONTENT WARNING: Graphic fight
scenes, lots of great sex, and hot, hot, hot dragon men.
SO DANIEL, while remembering to keep this PG-13 in case my mother reads this, what’s your favorite thing about Shelby? Lifting a brow and crossing his arms over his MACK-sized chest, he looks less than thrilled. "I'm not telling you--" His words cut off abruptly as Shelby, his mate, appears next to him. He sighs and hooks his arm around her neck, his face softening. "This. How she can fix everything wrong in my world by just showing up. I haven't figured out how she does it yet, but somehow, she makes all the parts of me I don't like seem okay."
SHELBY, same question. What was it about Daniel that drew you in, and made you decide HIM. I want HIM? Other than his manly bits, of course. Shelby snorts and grins up at Daniel. "Honestly? His temper. He kept everyone at a distance, ruled with an iron fist, and yet from the first moment I met him, I had this overwhelming need to protect him. It didn't make sense, and I didn't care. He needed me."
WHAT DO you think is the best part of the story? They stare at each other for a long moment, before Shelby's grin goes wider and Daniel sighs, making a sweeping motion with his hand for her to tell the story. "Go on, princess. You tell it better." She lets out a dreamy sound as she rests her head against his chest. "About half-way through the story, Daniel does something he's never done before, surprising himself. And if I hadn't already known I loved him, that one second when I stood in front of him in the kitchen, dripping wet, would have me tripping all over myself to claim him as my own." "I played." He winces slightly at how that sounds, before he shrugs and presses his lips to the top of her head. "I'm the dragon king. I don't play. I fight and I plan and I protect. In that moment, when she coaxed that side of me out that I hadn't even known existed and stared up at me with my entire world shining in her eyes, I'd have torn the world apart at the seams to keep her smiling at me." "Aww." Going on her toes, she kissed his chin. "I love this tame part of you, but I miss my surly dragon sometimes."
PET PEEVES? Shelby snorts. "You try living with a horde of ancient, over-protective dragons whose sole mission in life is to keep you safe. I love them all madly, but I swear, I can't turn around without three alpha dragons making sure I'm okay." "Yeah, that's not changing, princess." His pupils split and a low, dangerous growl rumbles in his chest. "You're the most famous actress in the world and someone's already tried to take you away from me once. I won't take chances with you."
ANY LAST words? Shelby nods. "Yes, Eden--our writer--thought you'd like to see how she envisions us."
