Brush with Desire*

Brush with Desire was not or did not meet the expectation that I had set in my mind from reading the blurb. I just could not connect with Machiko Barrett or the scandal that touched her life. I found it a bit difficult to relate in a way that would make the story come to life for me.
I was hoping for a connection with Cassidy's work because I own a few other books given to me by friends (not as recommendations).
