The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of Crimson Sky (Dark Sky, #1) . . .
The Love and Bond of sisters. The depths of what one would endure to make sure that the other sister was safe. Claire and Abby had a bond that would be tested and pushed to the limits of love and bonds. Their world and their lives changed the day that the skies above were shattered hell became a daily routine. The Hellions emerged and life for the sisters would never be the same again.

This read was a mixture of all the things that I love in read. It was full to the brim with fantasy, sci-fi, steampunk mechanics. The world was diverse, vast, and vivid. This ya dystopia was appealing and captivating with its dangers, betrayals, test of loyalties, pirates, creatures, strength of one self. Claire was a very strong and capable young woman. She took a stand and did not let much step in her way. She had to save her sister and she let nothing and no one deter her from the goal she had. As the scope of things become clearer. Claire has to put on the fight of her world not just for the love of her sister and her safety but for the world itself.

You will not be lacking for entertainment. With Vampires, pirates, humans, a steampunk mixture, a touch of sci-fi, paranormal, and maybe just maybe a little beginning of a romance. What will be next in the great adventure?

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of Midnight Sky (Dark Sky, #2) . . .
Claire’s quest continues and it has grown and have become even more clouded with secrets, betrayals, sacrifices and a possible triangle that could change more than what should be changed. Here we are back at the fight to make a wrong right again or at least make it better. Young Claire has her hands full with all that must be done to put the world back on a path cleared for the human race.

I found more drama, more action, more deceit, more betrayals, more secrets, just more. I was pulled in and wanting to know what was next. I turned each page excited to find what was held within.

Claire continues to move forward in life and make the decisions that need to be made to move them on to the next big step. Along the way she has to contend with her sister and a promise to her mother. There are outside forces working against her and her rag-tag group of misfits.

This time around I focused in on all the secondary character that were there before and newly introduced. I found more to be held captive by. Claire was most certainly a strong-willed, abled body female. She did what it took to do what needed to be done. I am looking forward to where things go to next and how the overall plot connects, grow, and conclude.

To save Abby and stop the Hellions for good, Claire must find the machine her parents built before the attacks, and fix it before the monsters return. To do so, she needs the help of her crew, and must ignore the secrets and rivalries between her captain and the man she saved.

Because the Hellions are not the only dangers following Claire. Twisted humans and old enemies surface to stop her and destroy all she loves.
